Yesterday, I was surprised on the posts of the social media group sites saying that the Philippine International Balloon Festival 2014 has changed its venue from Clark to Prado Siongco, Lubao, Pampanga. This is a bit confusing since there are posts at the first week of January, with Clark as the venue.
Other than the social media group, I tried to look for other posts and one of the staff from the provincial government of Pampanga also posted that the venue has been changed.
I heard rumors that the organizers of the Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Festival that was usually held in Clarkfield, Pampanga was unable to prepare for this year and cancelled the event. To continue the much awaiting annual event, the Department of Tourism is hosting this year’s event scheduled on April 10-13, 2014.
Hopefully, people who posted as Clark venue will confirm the true venue of the event to give clarification to the people who are waiting for this event.
New articles have been published regarding the Lubao venue. The reason of having a new venue is to avoid disruption of flights on the Clark airport (Inquirer)
Details about the new venue are provided here.
I just posted my experience on 04-12-2014 event here.
